About Absolute Change
Absolute Change Formula
The absolute change is the difference between the final value and the initial value:
Absolute Change = |V₂ - V₁|
Percentage Change Formula
The percentage change is the absolute change divided by the initial value, multiplied by 100:
Percentage Change = (|V₂ - V₁| / |V₁|) × 100%
Example Problems
Example 1:
Initial Value (V₁) = 100
Final Value (V₂) = 150
Solution:
- Absolute Change = |150 - 100| = 50
- Percentage Change = (50 / 100) × 100% = 50%
Example 2:
Initial Value (V₁) = 200
Final Value (V₂) = 150
Solution:
- Absolute Change = |150 - 200| = 50
- Percentage Change = (50 / 200) × 100% = 25%
