How it works
The slope (m) of a line is calculated using the formula:
m = (y₂ - y₁)/(x₂ - x₁) = rise/run
Where:
- rise = y₂ - y₁ (vertical change)
- run = x₂ - x₁ (horizontal change)
The angle of inclination (θ) is calculated using:
θ = arctan(m)
Note: The angle is measured from the positive x-axis, counterclockwise.
