About Kt/V
Kt/V is a measure of dialysis adequacy that quantifies the amount of urea removed during dialysis.
Daugirdas Formula:
Kt/V = -ln(R - 0.008 × t) + (4 - 3.5 × R) × UF/W
Where:
- • R = PostBUN/PreBUN
- • t = Dialysis time (hours)
- • UF = Ultrafiltration (weight loss)
- • W = Post-dialysis weight
Kt/V Targets:
- ≥1.2: Adequate dialysis
- 1.0-1.19: Borderline adequate
- <1.0: Inadequate dialysis
URR Targets:
- ≥65%: Adequate clearance
- 60-64%: Borderline adequate
- <60%: Inadequate clearance
