How it works
The y-intercept is the point where the line crosses the y-axis (x = 0).
For different forms:
- Slope-Intercept Form (y = mx + b): The y-intercept is (0, b)
- Standard Form (Ax + By + C = 0): The y-intercept is (0, -C/B)
- Point-Slope Form (y - y₁ = m(x - x₁)): Convert to slope-intercept form first
Note: If B = 0 in standard form, the line is vertical and has no y-intercept.
