What is BEE?
BEE (Basal Energy Expenditure) is the amount of energy your body needs to maintain basic life functions
at complete rest. This includes breathing, circulation, cell production, nutrient processing, protein synthesis,
and ion transport. It accounts for approximately 60-75% of your total daily energy expenditure.
Recommendations
- Weight Loss: Consume 500-1000 calories less than your TDEE
- Weight Maintenance: Consume calories equal to your TDEE
- Weight Gain: Consume 300-500 calories more than your TDEE
- Activity Level: Multiply BEE by activity factor to get TDEE
- Regular Reassessment: Recalculate as weight and activity change
Important: This calculator provides estimates based on the Harris-Benedict equation.
Individual energy needs may vary based on body composition, medical conditions, medications, and other factors.
