About the EPDS
The Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) is a 10-item self-report questionnaire designed to screen for postpartum depression. It assesses symptoms over the past 7 days and is validated for use during pregnancy and the postpartum period.

- EPDS Score Range: 0-30 points
- Cut-off Scores:
- 0-9: Likely well (minimal depression)
- 10-12: Possible depression (mild)
- 13+: Probable depression (moderate to severe)
- Question 10: Any positive response to question 10 requires immediate clinical attention
- Limitations: This is a screening tool, not a diagnostic instrument
- Follow-up: High scores should be followed up with clinical assessment
